Gatis Ozols is a Deputy State Secretary on Digital Transformation Affairs and a Government CIO. He is responsible for national and government digital transformation policy & strategy development and steering. His current focus areas are public service digital transformation, government ICT governance & government as a platform implementation, and building an ecosystem to fuel data economy.
Gatis has more than 15 years of professional work experience in digital government in different positions covering ICT project management, public service policy, and national digital transformation policy. He has wide international cooperation experience, including internship at the United Nations University (UN eGOV). He is initiator of several EU recognized and awarded nationwide initiatives, such as digital awareness program for citizens and digital government benchmark.
Mr. Ozols focuses on the strengthening the culture of openness and cooperation between national, municipal, private, academic and non-governmental sectors and inclusive digital transformation.
