The Agency carries out activities aimed at developing the country’s scientific and technological potential, promoting the effective use of space technologies across various sectors of the economy, and establishing national space infrastructure.
The Agency was established pursuant to Presidential Decree No. UP-5806 of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 30, 2019, “On the Development of Space Activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan,” and implements state policy in the areas of space research, satellite technologies, Earth remote sensing, space monitoring, and geoinformation technologies.
As part of its activities, “Uzbekcosmos” introduces space technologies into agriculture, land relations, environmental protection, geology, water management, and other sectors; conducts space-based monitoring of territories; and prepares analytical data for public administration authorities.
The Agency also contributes to strengthening the country’s space capabilities by supporting scientific and innovative activities in space research, introducing advanced technologies, developing highly qualified professionals, and promoting international cooperation.
The activities of “Uzbekcosmos” are aimed at improving the efficiency of economic sectors, supporting the sustainable development of regions, and promoting the widespread adoption of modern digital technologies through the use of space technology capabilities.
